MWR broadcasts obituaries for Mayo, Sligo, Roscommon, Galway and Leitrim daily from their studios at Ballyhaunis, Co. Mayo. MWR also broadcast through the Internet as Mid-west Irish Internet Radio.

The Irish Association of Funeral Directors is the only professional association for Funeral Directors throughout Ireland, having been established in 1979. Sharkey Funeral Directors are current members, the present owner having served as President in past years.
